Hello from
under all the snow!
Well, we have our blizzard for 2005. Thankfully local news
reporters were out there reporting that it was snowing in case we
couldn't tell or just thought G-d was having some really bad
dandruff.
My blizzard story is how I was inches away from being the fourth
of a three-car accident. One car going west on Northern Boulevard
in Manhasset couldn't brake for the red light so it slammed into
this jeep that did brake. However, the Jeep bumper-cared across
the intersection into an eastbound car waiting to make a left
turn. I was right behind that left turn car and decided not to
make the left turn. It was unreal watching it unfold! Since no one
got hurt and people have auto insurance, it's okay to say that
snow needs to be a new option in the next Grand Theft Auto.
So while snowbound inside, I blogged about
my dad's love of shoveling as
well as how
kids will do anything to get out of school.
Hopefully the snow will melt by Thursday when I travel 280 miles
north on I-87 to SUNY Plattsburgh. And for those in Suffolk
County, I return to SUNY Stony Brook next week.
